Session 2 Recap
Through Death, Life

The adventurers mourned the loss of their companion Ezzt (for about ten seconds) while they took cover from the avalanche created by said dead companion. A gnome rides an explosive barrel down the hill and it explodes, creating a gap for most of the snow to run into.

“Is the gnome still alive?”
“No.”

Imperator Sardoga brings the Corp in front of the Legion, praising them and giving them the honourary title of Fireforged.

The Fireforged get drunk, Bartten pukes on Hosbo Buck who Kaitus tells is his own.

They arrive at the Monarch Gate and Kaitus find an army of Orc bandits hanging around on the other side. Tribune Randusa orders Kaitus to the Imperator’s tent.

They arrive at the Imperator’s tent, Bartten sasses him. Bartten is demoted, Kaitus is promoted.

They are sent to bring a bag of gold to the Temple of the Monarch so that they open the gate. They find the temple burned down and an oasis in a cave near by. The silver water of the cave has healing powers. They find Kaizen the monk meditating by his dead comrades and nurture him back to health. They find the Monarch Gate to be held by the orch bandits and attack with the help of a friendly half-ogre.

They take the bridge and solve the riddle that opens the gate. The army charges through into the Orc camp and the heroes support, Bartten picking off leaders from atop the bridge while the other three go below and enter the fray.

Later that night they head back for the stolen monk chest, solve the riddle and open it. Kaizen finds the Lamp of Methuselah which glows a certain colour flame when enemies are near.

Sardoga gives the heroes a Seeker Stone, a compass that will lead them back to its master stone, which is attached to Sardoga’s armour. He orders them to scout the Khan Duran covertly, as there is a hoard of dragonborn terrorizing it which could interfere with the future plans of the Legion. Kaitus raised the point that the Khan Duran is the territory of the 5th Legion, and Sardoga suggested they tread carefully and keep their heads down.

The heroes were given a covered wagon with two horses and they set off to the Khan Duran. For three days a little boy appears at their campfire around midnight. He says nothing and cannot be touched. On the fourth day Kaitus finds a ring on his finger. The Lamp of Methuselah comes to life, and the face of an old man can be seen within. The face warns Kaitus that the ring is the ring of martyrs.

Session 1 Recap
To The Mines and Back

When we last left our heroes they were deep in the Frost Fang mountains on a secret and highly dangerous mission to destroy the Drow stronghold. Imperator Sardoga – head of the Sixth Legion – had appointed Jim Raynor as Legate of his Corps, after the death of it’s previous Legate and six other members. Our heroes were sent up a mountainside to find out what had happened to the rest of their Corp.

Once up the mountain they found the wreckage of the airship their comrades had used to scout the area. It had been shot down by Drow engineers. How had they got their hands on this kind of weaponry?

Our heroes stumbled upon the entrance to an old Dwarven fortress that had been infested with the vile Drow.

Sneaking in through a back entrance guarded by a yeti, the group found the Drow to be using Gnome slaves to carry ancient explosives from the depth of the fortress outside, to create an avalanche that would destroy the Sixth Legion camp below.

Hiding in barrels, our heroes waited for the perfect opportunity, and then went in for the kill. Overkill. Surprising the Drow, our heroes raced into the fortress, freeing as many Gnome slaves as they could. Ezzt, the lone Drow of the Legions, lit explosives deep in the fortress, causing wave after fiery wave of destruction. The heroes raced to get out of the fortress with flames licking their heels. Ezzt lost his footing and fell, consumed by flames. There was nothing the other three could do.

They burst out of the giant dwarven gates, the cold hair knocking the wind out of them while the flames billow out from the doors.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
